What the audit checks
Speed
Real mobile speed from Google PageSpeed (loading time, blocking time, layout shift), plus render-blocking scripts, page weight and how much code your apps add.
Search & SEO
Title and description, headings, canonical link, structured data, robots.txt, sitemap, link previews and whether Google is allowed to index the store.
Images
Alt text, width and height, lazy-loading and responsive sizes: the usual reasons a Shopify page feels slow and ranks badly.
Store health
Theme and Online Store 2.0 status, the apps your store loads (found on the home, product and cart pages), leftover code from apps that were removed, and a sample of your products: descriptions, product photos and alt text.
Questions
Is the audit really free?
Yes. You see your score, the category scores and the three biggest issues straight away. The full list of findings and fixes is released when you leave an email address, so I can follow up if you want help.
What does it look at?
Only what any visitor or search engine can see: your home page, one product page, the cart page, robots.txt, sitemap.xml, a sample of the public product feed, and a Google PageSpeed test on a phone. It never logs in to your store.
Can it change or break my store?
No. It only reads public pages, a few at a time, like a visitor would. Nothing is installed and nothing is edited.
What happens to my email address?
It arrives in my inbox together with your store address and score, and I use it only to reply about your audit. See the privacy notice for details.
Why did my store fail to scan?
The usual reasons: the store is password-protected, a security service blocks automated visitors, the address is wrong, or the site is not built on Shopify (headless builds can be audited by hand: just ask).
How accurate are the speed numbers?
They come from Google PageSpeed Insights, which tests on a simulated mid-range phone with a slow connection. Numbers move a little from run to run, so use them to find problems, not to compare single points.
