Privacy notice
I run this website myself. It counts visits so I can see which pages are read and where readers come from. It does not show ads, it does not sell or share visit data, it does not follow you to other sites, and it sets no cookies. Below is exactly what is collected, why, and how to stop it.
Microsoft Clarity (session analytics)
This site also uses Microsoft Clarity, a free analytics tool from Microsoft, to see how pages are used: where visitors click and scroll, and recordings of how a page is used. Clarity sets first-party cookies (_clck and _clsk) in your browser and receives your IP address, device, browser and the pages you view. Microsoft processes this data for me; see the Microsoft privacy statement.
This section takes priority over any line on this page that says the site sets no cookies: those describe the site's own visit counter. Clarity is not loaded when your browser sends "Do Not Track" or when you switch counting off below. Reload the page after switching it off.
What is collected when you visit
When a page opens, the site records:
- The page you opened and when. While the tab stays open and visible, a tiny "still here" signal is sent about every 25 seconds, so I can tell a quick glance from a real read.
- Your IP address, and from it your approximate location: country, region, city, and a rounded point on a map.
- Your device type, browser and operating system (for example "mobile, Chrome, Android"), as your browser reports them.
- Where you came from, if your browser shares the address of the page that linked here.
- A random visit ID. It is made in your browser, kept in session storage, and disappears when you close the tab. It is not linked to your name.
Shorter IP for visitors in Europe. If you are in the EU, the EEA, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the last part of your IP address is removed before it is stored (and the map position is rounded more coarsely), so it can no longer point to one connection.
The site does not collect your name, your email address or your exact location from visits, and nothing you type is recorded except in the contact form (see below). Most search-engine and other automated visitors are ignored.
Why visits are counted
- To see which pages are read and which are ignored, so I can improve them.
- To see which countries and sites readers come from, so I know whether my work reaches the people it is meant for, such as store owners and researchers.
- To notice problems on certain devices, for example a page that is hard to use on a phone.
- To spot spam and abuse.
- To show me a live view in my private admin page.
The data is not used for advertising, profiling, selling, or decisions about you.
Legal basis
For visitors in the EU and the UK, the basis is legitimate interest: understanding how the site is used and keeping it working and secure. I keep the impact small on purpose: a shortened IP in Europe, a 90-day limit, no cross-site tracking, and an easy way to switch it off (below). If you contact me, I use your details only to reply.
How long it is kept
- Visit records are deleted automatically after about 90 days.
- Contact messages are kept until I delete them. Ask me and I will delete yours straight away.
The contact form
If you send a message, I receive your name, email address, the topic and your message. They are stored in the site's database so I can read and answer them, and they may also be forwarded to my inbox by an email delivery service. To limit spam, a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address is kept next to the message. It cannot be turned back into your IP, and it is used only to stop one person sending many messages in an hour.
Cookies and browser storage
This site sets no cookies. It uses your browser's storage for three small things: the random visit ID above (session storage), your choice to switch counting off (below), and your choice to quiet the little guide character.
Your choices and rights
- Switch counting off with the button below. It also respects the "Do Not Track" setting of your browser.
- Ask what I hold about you, ask me to correct or delete it, or object to it: write to rhabibur1710@gmail.com. Visit records have no name on them, so to find yours I may ask roughly when you visited and from where.
- If you are in the EU or the UK, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If this notice changes, the date at the top changes too.

Visits from this browser are counted as described above.
