- What I do: I lead the Technical Experience team at ParseLab: Shopify troubleshooting, theme work, and turning recurring merchant problems into product decisions.
- How I work: Don't guess. Reproduce the problem first, find the root cause, then fix it or take it to product.
- Beyond work: I did research in cryptography, build small tools like DragShot, and write short quotes.
I'm Habibur Rahman, based in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
I joined ParseLab in 2024, starting out in technical experience for products like InkyBay and Optionia. Most of my early work was about helping Shopify merchants when something went wrong: investigating technical issues, reproducing bugs, understanding what the merchant was trying to achieve, and finding a way forward.
The longer I worked with merchants, the more I started noticing patterns. Some issues weren't really bugs. They were signs that something in the product could be improved. I began bringing those patterns to our engineering and product teams, and gradually became involved in discussions beyond individual support cases.
My role grew from solving problems for individual clients to thinking more broadly about how we solve them as a team and how the product can address them at its source.
Today, I lead the Technical Experience team. I work closely with clients, guide the team through complex technical issues, review work, and help improve the way we handle technical problems. I also work closely with product and engineering as we think through requirements, solutions, and what we should build next.
I didn't plan that progression from the beginning. It grew naturally from being close to the problems.
Before joining ParseLab, I completed my master's degree in Cryptography and published two research papers. That background left me with a habit that still shapes how I work:

Whether I'm working with a client, helping a teammate, or thinking through a product problem, I try to understand what is actually happening before deciding what to do next.
